Russell H. Greenfield, M.D., Medical Director and Integrative Physician

Nadeem Esmail, Director, Health System Performance Studies

Dr. Larry Ohlhauser, President and CEO of Ohlhauser and Associates

Dr. Ohlhauser, physician, medical administrator and consultant, offers clients strategic insights into their operations.  After running a successful medical practice in Drumheller, Alberta, he worked with the College of Physician and Surgeons of Alberta for 20 years – the last 12 years as Registrar and CEO.  Today he is President and CEO of Ohlhauser and Associates, a consulting firm specializing in healthcare strategy and management consulting for large multinationals, corporations and government institutions.

Dr. Ohlhauser has a passion for inspiring individuals to take responsibility of their own health.    He chaired the Health Reform Implementation Team, created to implement the recommendations of the Mazankowski report in 2002.  He brings a strategic view to the issues facing health care delivery by looking for systemic solutions focused on the patient.  Transformation rather than reformation of the healthcare system must be considered when looking at sustainability of our system.  “More energy must be directed to the “why” then the “how” when developing strategies for improving our public healthcare system,” he said.

Dr. Ohlhauser has recently received the Alberta Centennial Medal in recognition of outstanding service to the people and province of Alberta, and has recently been named “one of the Top 100 Physicians of the Century”  by the College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Alberta Medical Association.

Whether he is piloting jet airplanes, consulting large institutions, speaking publicly to hundreds of executives, or hitting a golf ball out of the sand, Dr. Ohlhauser infuses life with energy, with purpose and with intense satisfaction.

He is author of a forthcoming book entitled The Healthy CEO, which uses his proven concepts of goal setting and outcome measurement to address the unique health challenges facing executives.

Dr. Dianne Tapp, RN, University of Calgary

Dr. Tapp is currently an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Graduate Programs in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary. Her clinical practice has been primarily in the field of cardiovascular nursing, where she has worked as a staff nurse, educator, and nurse manager. More recently, her research has focused on the impact of heart disease on family members, family-centered care on adult hospital nursing units, and family health promotion to prevent obesity. Her concerns about the future of the health care system are motivated by workforce planning projections calling for dramatic increases in numbers of health professionals to be educated in the next 2 decades; the need for community supports for patients and families as the length of stay in hospital has been dramatically reduced; and the untapped possibilities for prevention of chronic illness including heart disease.

Dr. Jeff Warren, College of Chiropractors of Alberta

Dr. Jeffrey Warren, President of the College of Chiropractors of Alberta has over 20 years experience as a chiropractor and community leader.   Dr. Warren graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1981 after receiving his B.Sc. from the University of Toronto in 1977. He has maintained a private practice in Lethbridge since 1986.

Dr. Warren is very active in local community groups and is past chair of the Friends of the Environment Foundation, a member of the Downtown Rotary Club and past member of the University of Lethbridge Senate.  A strong advocate of a high quality and accessible health care system, he feels that "one of the greatest parts of being a chiropractor is seeing people’s lives change as they regain their health.”

His strong vision for the Alberta chiropractic profession is coupled with a similar vision for a strong health care system in Alberta. "Alberta's health care system is evolving," states Dr. Warren," and so is chiropractic. As primary care practitioners, our role is to treat patients in the most clinically effective and cost efficient manner possible." Part of Dr. Warren's vision is to decrease existing barriers that limit access to chiropractic care. "My goal is to ensure patients have access to funding so they can get the care they need to get back on their feet and back to their lives."
